Before we start blinding you with the science behind Google Workspace, if you are wondering, “What is Google Workspace?”, here’s a quick overview: Google Workspace is everything you need to get done in one place! It is Google’s suite of intelligent apps. Alongside email hosting for your business, it includes a variety of apps and features that you’ll find quite handy. You are probably familiar with or already using some of them.

Is it worth it for small businesses and entrepreneurs?

You may ask yourself whether it’s essential for start-ups and small businesses. Is too much convenience a bad thing? Add in we’re giving you this for free for the first 12 months, and what have you got to lose? Especially as our experienced tutors will talk you through each of its features and benefits! While most small businesses set aside money for rent, supplies, marketing, and all other necessary expenses, few take software seriously.

Gone are the days when everyone was office-based and business was conducted face-to-face or over the telephone. These days, most business takes place online; a desk drawer and filing cabinet are kind of redundant! As a small business owner, time is the most significant investment you put in and one which you will want to spend growing your business and increasing revenue. The last
thing you want to do is spend all that time on non-productive activities. With its Admin Console, Workspace allows business owners to manage everything from one place. Its productivity tools come with online cloud storage. They are not only all in the same place but are intelligent enough to communicate and sync information automatically and between each other. Chances are you’re already using one or several tools from G-Suite. Google Drive, Google Docs, and Gmail- Do any of these sound familiar to you? During this module of our Skills Bootcamp, we will be exploring these apps’ features and benefits in detail; however, for now, here’s a little taster!

You might ask, “Why wouldn’t I be happy with my current email account?”. A regular Gmail or another email account might be enough for some businesses, but do you want your customers emailing you at [email protected]? Do you want an email from a customer to get lost amid your personal stuff?

Professional email addresses are slowly becoming a requirement.

Customers and potential customers will be much more comfortable using professional emails rather than personal ones. How much more appealing does [email protected] sound? It also helps with brand awareness.

Google Workspace enables you to establish and run an email marketing centre. You can use your user account to create several other email aliases that will help you look and sound more professional to your clients. For example, you can have a [email protected], [email protected] and many more, depending on how many departments your business requires.

Google Calendar makes scheduling so much easier. You can set appointments on your calendar right from your inbox. You can schedule everything from calls with clients to project reminders and even meetings. The best thing about Google Calendar is that those reminders will be shared across all devices. Your schedule will stay organised, and you’ll never miss a thing.

I know we’ve all been there, using our personal Google Drive storage for business. You know how disorganised it is. Not to mention how hard it is to find business documents buried under tonnes of family photos. You’ve likely been hit with the “storage full” or “low storage space” notification several times. Worry no more; Google Workspace comes with unlimited storage, so you will always have enough space for your files.

You know just how vital these tools are for business. Creating content, doing quick financial math, and many other uses. Business sometimes involves sharing sensitive documents with contractors, other business associates and customers. G-Suite is a central management tool that will help you regulate access and manipulation of your shared documents. The cool thing is that you can use all those email aliases to send and receive emails. In addition to that, for convenience purposes, all emails will be handled in your user’s primary box. Convinced yet? This is just the beginning.
